Training Programmes

Our unique suite of programmes share some of the most potent aspects of the nowhere practice. For many years we have helped leaders develop the personal and systemic awareness, understanding and skills necessary to lead and catalyse change, innovation and transformation across business, organisational and community life.

* Every other year we make available a limited number of spaces for senior leaders and change agents to join nowhere's core internal training programme - inspiring-innovation - enabling them to go deeper and explore what lies behind the nowhere practice.

Leading and catalysing change

An experiential programme for leaders and change agents, whose role is to lead business critical change projects and initiatives.

Organisations that are fit for the future are masters of change. They not only keep up with the rate of change in the external environment, they help lead and shape it. Learning how to excite and inspire the organisation about change, to disrupt the status quo, to help their people let go of the past and embrace the new, are just some of the critical skills for leading and catalysing change.

This programme introduces participants to the Leading Change wheel, a framework designed to help leaders and change agents master the human dimensions of change, thereby minimising organisational resistance and increasing your chance of transitioning from one place, structure or focus to another.

Throughout this programme we explore questions like:

  • How do you create passionate intent?
  • How do you compassionately speak the truth?
  • How do you listen for power and danger?
  • How do you build an infrastructure for change?

This programme is delivered as two modules of two days, for up to 18 people, and run as a three-month learning journey.

Leading and catalysing innovation

An immersive experience for leaders and change agents, whose role is to generate strategic breakthroughs and deliver innovative solutions.

Knowing the difference between a question and a breakthrough question, sensing when a team is stuck and choosing whether to hold them there (or not), or learning how to turn rapid prototyping into a transformational intervention, are some of the subtle yet profound dynamics of leading and catalysing innovation.

This programme introduces participants to the Leading Innovation wheel, a framework designed to help leaders develop and lead creative teams - thereby establishing the conditions for creative breakthrough and the delivery of elegant innovative solutions.

Throughout the programme we explore questions like:

  • How do you on-board a creative team in such a way as to maximise the chance of breakthrough?
  • How do you quest into the unknown and become comfortable with not-knowing?
  • How do you release the energy stored in stuckness and use it to catalyse breakthrough?
  • How do you embed this wisdom into your own leadership style and approach?

This programme is delivered as three modules of two days, for up to 16 people, and run as a four-month learning journey.

Catalyst development

A foundation course for people who want to move beyond basic change and facilitation skills and learn the high skills of catalysing breakthrough.

This programme explores the exciting new discipline of catalysing - the art and practice of creative and collective breakthrough. In this programme participants learn how to harness individual and group energy, turn obstacles into creative opportunities and transform creative tension into creative breakthrough. It introduces the creative-rollercoaster as both a metaphor and experiential learning journey, and supports catalysts to develop the awareness, understanding and skills necessary to help others (leaders, teams and communities) ride the highs and lows of the creative process.

Some of the micro-skills and frameworks that we teach include:

  • designing creative interventions
  • holding co-creative space
  • catalysing creative dialogue
  • understanding the enabling and disabling energies of individuals, teams and organisations

This programme is delivered as three modules of two-days, for up to 36 people, and run as a three-month learning journey.

Inspiring-innovation (i-i™)

A transformational journey for leaders and change agents who want to go much deeper with their practice.

Research shows that the level of consciousness of leaders, change agents and consultants has a major impact on the success of strategic initiatives, change programmes, innovation projects, cultural shifts and organisational transformations. Inspiring-innovation™ brings together leading edge personal, interpersonal, systemic and organisational frameworks with a unique set of co-creative tools and techniques to catalyse profound shifts in human systems.

i-i™ is designed around the premise that: personal transformation is a prerequisite for organisational transformation; the wellspring of organisational creativity is clarity of purpose; and that sustainable and inspiring innovations are evoked by self-aware leaders, creative teams and agents of change. Moreover, that the untapped creative potential of organisations lies in the space between: leaders, teams, departments and organisations, as well as the wider value chain and eco-system of stakeholders.

To be able to catalyse breakthrough in these areas requires presence, skill, awareness, integrity and creative power. i-i™ is therefore an experiential training that includes an array of tools and processes but focuses on the belief that the most powerful tool in this type of work is you and your state of consciousness.
